PUBLIC MEETING
DOUBTS have been raised regarding a public meeting organised by Crook Community Partnership (CCP) to consider a possible town/parish council for Crook.
The meeting will go ahead on Thursday, September 27, at 7pm in St Catherine's Community Centre, Crook.
It will focus on what a town/parish council would do, how it could transform our town, what the differences are between town and parish councils, etc.
The CCP has drawn up a map of Crook, following the boundaries that we operate within, and would recommend this be the same for any proposed town/parish.
We would also recommend that a town council be chosen as that is what we are.
We are having some guest speakers to explain the differences between the two and what it would mean for residents.
No petition will be asked for at this meeting as it is purely to raise awareness of the issue and to get the ball rolling to see if people are interested in the idea.
All residents of Crook are invited to attend. This is a non-political event and is being hosted by the CCP for the benefit of the residents of Crook.
Andrew Hall, chairman, Crook Community Partnership
