CREATIVE students will be reaching for the skies after they won a competition to design outfits.
Pupils from the Yorkshire Coast College entered a competition to design outfits for a charity ball.
The theme of the ball was Flights of Fancy, and the winning pupils are to have a hot air balloon ride as a prize.
The ball will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Mountain Rescue, and a Children's Foundation.
Councillor Natalie Warriner, who arranged the competition, said: "The designs produced by the students have been breathtaking.
"I hope the winners will enjoy their prize - they certainly deserve it."
The winners will fly from the Brooklyn Youth Centre, Norton-on-Derwent, over Malton, from 7pm on Thursday.
The Flights of Fancy Ball takes place on September 8, from 7.30pm to 12.30am, with tickets £35 and on sale now.
Tickets are available from Coun Warriner, on 01751-473397, or from Pickering Tourist Information Centre, on 01751-473791.
