GARDENERS in north Durham are being encouraged to show off their work.
Blackfyne Allotment Association is holding its first annual produce show on September 1.
The competition will take place at the Dixon Street entrance to the allotments, with judging from noon and 2pm.
Association secretary Celia Rogan said: "Once judging has taken place, all flower and vegetable entries will be open for the public to view from 2pm to 4pm
"We will be having a scarecrow competition, plus a vintage tractor will be on view for the day, and there will be a tombola stall with prizes
"We hope people will come along to support their local allotments."
