JUDGES are to visit four villages in the Tees Valley as they compete for the title of 2007 Calor Village of the Year.
In the competition, organised by Tees Valley Rural Community Council, the villages of Sadberge, Thorpe Thewles, Middleton St George and Moorsholm are competing against each other and will have one hour to showcase their village and impress the judging panel.
The competition results will be revealed at the end of the month and prizes will be presented at an awards event taking place at Nature's World, Middlesbrough, on September 27.
Later in the year, the successful village will be nominated to represent the county in the Calor Village of the Year for England competition 2007-8, giving them the opportunity of a share in a prize fund totalling more than £36,000.
