A YOUNGSTER from Osmotherley has won a regional Pony Club competition.

Alice Barker, 12, came first in the individual junior dressage championship at the area three dressage competition, held at the Driffield Showground, in East Yorkshire.

She was representing the Hurworth Hunt branch of the Pony Club and was riding her coloured pony, Rocky, who she has partnered for the last two years.

Other team members were Jenny Thompson, on Hillhead George, Sophie Gloag, on Mickey, and Caroline Clarke, on Flick.

The team was placed fourth out of 22 teams from club branches across Yorkshire.
