AN Army recruit who died in a helicopter crash in North Yorkshire has been named.
The Daily Record newspaper has reported that he is Sean Tait, 17, from Glasgow, who joined up just four weeks ago.
His parents Colin and Margaret Anne were at his side when he died, the paper said.
The teenager is the third person to die following the Puma helicopter crash near Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday night.
Flight lieutenant David Sale and Sergeant Philip Burford died at the scene.
Sean's grandmother Annie Caithness told the Record: "He left school last year and had a few jobs that weren't going anywhere.
"He thought joining the Army would be a great move for him. His mother is just distraught."
Three other recruits who were on the helicopter were discharged from hospital yesterday and others injured in the crash are making good progress.
