GREEN-FINGERED enthusiasts are being reminded to enter this year's Hartlepool Horticultural Show.
The event, which takes place in the Borough Hall, on the Headland, on August 18 and 19, features more than 110 categories for the best plants, flowers and vegetables in the region.
This year, show organisers want to encourage more entries from the town and have added two categories with larger prize money on offer for people in Hartlepool.
The categories are heaviest onion and longest carrot.
Entries for all sections can be made up until 9am on the first day of the show.
The free show will be held from noon until 5pm on Saturday, and between 11am and 4pm on Sunday. It also includes the National Gladiolus Society Show.
For information, call Lesley Strickland at Hartlepool Borough Council on 01429-523420.
