TOURISM chiefs are promoting Hambleton's Herriot Country as the place to come for a late summer or autumn break.
Holiday guides are being sent to past visitors as part of a campaign to keep the district on the tourist trail.
"The perception from some parts of the UK and Europe is that we are still under water," said Hambleton's tourism manager, David Shields.
"We know that is not true. North Yorkshire did suffer last month but everything is back to normal and basking in the glorious August sunshine."
Herriot Country Holiday Guides are being issued to 1,200 people.
