A SCOUT group has made a special centenary garden to mark the beginning of the scouting movement.
Staff from the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton, designed the garden and members of the Friarage Scoutlink Group created it.
The Scout group wanted to create a lasting reminder of the Scouts' centenary year that could be enjoyed by the community.
The garden, which also received support from the York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation, was officially opened on Monday.
The Friarage Scoutlink group enables children who may not adapt well into the regular Scouts enjoy what the movement has to offer.
It runs activities suitable for all children but particularly those with any special needs.
For more information on Scoutlink please contact the group scout leader, Steven Brown, on 01642-555945.
On the same day, members of the Yorkshire Building Society, in Northallerton, presented a cheque for £500 to the Friarage.
