A MOTHER and daughter enjoyed a trip down the River Thames when they attended a book launch in London.
TV celebrities Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford read extracts from the limited edition, puzzle-filled book, Where Did The River Go? Two characters from the book, Plip and Dab, also attended the event.
It was written by Peter Corey with illustrations by Charlotte Firmin and was commissioned by Learn Direct.
The interactive book is aimed at children aged from five to nine and emphasises the importance of reading together by posing questions on each page, which must be solved to reveal the next part of the story.
Sarah Hudson and her eight-year-old daughter, Victoria, from Northallerton, were invited to attend by Learn Direct because of Sarah's learning achievements with the Learn Direct Learning Centre at Northallerton College.
The book is available from the Northallerton College Learn Direct Centre.
