TWO leaflets have been launched to help sufferers of domestic abuse in the Hambleton area.
One - in red - helps victims by urging them not to be afraid to ask for help, and contains details on how to get out of abusive relationships, quickly and with planning.
It also contains a detachable credit-card size telephone list of local and national helplines.
The other - in blue - has been designed to give advice to the friends and family of people who they suspect are victims of domestic abuse.
The local community safety partnership's domestic abuse officer, Linda Ashman, is issuing the leaflets across the district through council offices, police stations, GP surgeries, health centres, hospitals and leisure centres.
Ms Ashman joined the partnership earlier this year and her role includes co-ordinating multi-agency case conferences for victims at risk of domestic abuse.
She also works with the member organisations of the Hambleton Domestic Abuse Forum to deliver and improve policies and services within the district, and acts as a front-line contact for victims of domestic abuse and their families or friends.
For issues relating to domestic abuse and for copies of the leaflet contact her on 01609-767271.
