NEARLY half of young North-Easterners would rather go on a dream date with their partner than a celebrity.
Research carried out by the National Lottery, to coincide with the launch of its EuroMillions game, asked people how they would like to spend their dream day.
Forty-six per cent said they would rather go out with their partner than a celebrity.
Fourteen per cent prefer to share a dream day with their mother as opposed to five per cent who would take a pop star or sports star.
To take them to their dream day, more than a quarter of young people in the region opted for a private jet or helicopter, with the stretch limousine the third choice.
The most popular way to spend the day was shopping, with 36 per cent saying they would indulge in "retail therapy" in areas such as Yarm or Middlesbrough.
About 18 per cent would be prepared to spend in the region of £10,000 on their dream day, with a further 21 per cent willing to spend between £10,000 and £100,000.
The research coincides with the launch of the EuroMillions game, aimed at 18 to 24-year-olds and offers the chance for people to create their dream day, and live it.
