WOODLAND in Teesside will be the setting for a series of children's events.
A storytelling festival has been organised in Coatham Wood, Stockton, next Tuesday, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
The event will include tall tales about trees, an opportunity to discover mini-beasts and craft lessons.
The following day, the spotlight is on Stainton Quarry Local Nature Reserve, in Middlesbrough, from 2pm to 3.30pm, when the flute-playing "green man of the woods" weaves stories in the woods.
There is an invitation to wander in the woods at the Wynyard Woodland Park, in Stockton, on Thursday, August 16, and visit the storytelling seat and learn about trees.
Debbie Scott, community and biodiversity officer for the Tees Forest, said: "Trees are an important part of our local landscape and heritage, treasured by generations past and shrouded in folklore, myth and legend"
All the events are free. All children should be accompanied by an adult and everyone should be dressed in outdoor clothing.
