NORTH Yorkshire County Council has approved schemes for children's centres providing additional services for families at two schools in the county.
A hut will be demolished to make way for the development at Norton Community Primary School in Grove Street, Norton, Malton.
At Starbeck Community Primary School, Harrogate, listed building consent has been granted for a disabled access ramp and path, internal fireproofing work, a disabled toilet and two small kitchens.
The recommendation will be sent to Harrogate Borough Council for final approval in line with listed building and conservation area regulations.
The developments form part of a county council scheme to develop care and advice for parents of children up to the age of five and below secondary school age.
