CLOSED: Emergency services have closed Middlesbrough's Marton Road as they tackle a car fire
A CAR fire closed a busy road during rush hour this morning.
The vehicle burst into flames close to Scholars Rise, which leads onto Middlesbrough’s Marton Road.
Marton Road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the situation.
The road has now reopened but traffic around the area is said to be slow and congested.
It is not known if anyone has been injured as a result of the incident.
