A NEW digital radio station covering York and North Yorkshire is to go live this week.
The online radio station, YO1 Radio will take to the airwaves on Tuesday, September 12.
The stations promises to “showcase new artists, local businesses and community events”.
Co-founder and presenter Chris Marsden said: “Our research has shown that listening habits have changed radically in the last five years. People are consuming radio very differently through smart phones, tablets, computers and even Smart TVs – but it’s also clear they still want content that’s both entertaining and relevant to them.
“We’ve created YO1 to bridge the gap between local radio and the new ways that
technology allows us to listen to it. As well as live shows we’ll be providing podcasts and specialist programmes covering a wide variety of musical tastes.”
The station will be on air 24 hours a day, combining feel good music, local news and interviews with interesting figures from across North Yorkshire.
The YO1 app is available for download on android and IOS devices. Online listeners
