A DISABLED elderly man has reported his mobility scooter stolen from his garage following an overnight break-in.

The "unique" scooter was taken from a detatched garage in the Blackwell Grove area of Darlington in the early hours of Sunday, September 3.

The portable mobility scooter is black and chrome-coloured.

PC Robertson, from Darlington CID, said: "This scooter belongs to an elderly disabled male and the loss of it could have a great impact on his quality of life.

"It was stolen along with the charger unit. I believe that it is quite a unique scooter.

"I am appealing to the person who took the item to return it, or to anyone with information on its whereabouts to contact myself or Darlington CID team."
