THE remarkable life of the "Lady of the North" – also known as Darlington's St Cuthbert's Church – will be revealed to visitors as part of Heritage Open Day events.
The 12th century church, in the town's Market Place, stands on Norman foundations and is a Grade I listed building with a 14th century belfry and font and a 15th century misericords, among other historic features.
St Cuthbert's will open its doors on Thursday, September 7, between 11am and 1pm, re-opening from 11am until 2pm on Friday, September 8, with guided tours and music from 12.45pm.
The church will again be open between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, September 9, an from noon until 4pm on Sunday, September 10.
