A TEENAGER is seriously ill in hospital after the mini moto he was riding was involved in a crash with a car.
An off-road mini moto motorcycle and Audi A3 were travelling in opposite directions on Hutton Avenue, Darlington, when they collided head on, causing the mini moto to burst into flames.
The 15-year-old rider of the mini moto suffered serious injuries and was taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition.
The accident happened at about 8pm on Friday. Police said the driver of the car was uninjured and left the scene following the incident.
Any witnesses should call Durham Police on 101 and ask for the Collision Investigation Unit.
