A FOUR-car crash closed part of the A66 running through a town centre.
Motorists were urged to avoid the A66 westbound, in Middlesbrough, while the incident was dealt with by the emergency services.
The busy route was closed between Middlesbrough's Cineworld roundabout and the slip road for the town centre following the crash at Thursday lunchtime.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman confirmed that none of the drivers involved in the four-vehicle crash were seriously injured, however an ambulance was called.
The A66 re-opened at 2pm, around two hours after the incident, causing severe delays for motorists, commuters and public transport users.
