DAMAGE: In the latest act of criminal damage at Our Lady & St Thomas RC Church, Willington, flowers were destroyed
THOUGHTLESS churchyard vandals destroyed the flowers someone had left beside a loved one's final resting place.
Sometime between Thursday, August 24 and Monday, August 28 a floral tribute at Our Lady & St Thomas Roman Catholic Church, on Cumberland Terrace, Willington, was damaged.
The vandalism follows a number of similar reports in the area in recent weeks.
A police spokesperson said: "The latest incident involved the destruction of memorial flowers located near cherished gravesides."
They appealed for anyone with information about the issue to contact them on 101 quoting crime number CRI00075435 and ask for PC 2926 Thompson.
