ESSENTIAL annual maintenance work will see the closure of the A170 at Sutton Bank, near Thirsk, for a week from September 11.
Osgoodby Lane south of the A170 will also be closed and so there will be no access on or off the A170 at this junction for residents.
North Yorkshire County Council are closing the road for the annual inspection and maintenance of the rock face to ensure it remains safe.
Access to premises will be restricted at times and a diversion will be signposted through Ampleforth and Coxwold.
Executive member for highways Cllr Don Mackenzie said: “Every effort will be made to ensure work is completed as soon as possible and that disruption is kept to a minimum.
“We would like to apologise for any disruption.”
