THE annual Durham Scout County Awards Day will be held next month.
The event will take place at the Xcel Centre, in Newton Aycliffe, on September 16.
There will be three sessions, with awards presented by the likes of the chairman of Durham Council and the Lord Lieutenant of Durham.
More than 550 young people are expected to attend, ranging from Beaver Scouts aged six to eight to Explorer Scouts, aged between 14 and 18 and Scout Network members, aged up to 25.
They will be supported by parents and friends and their achievements in gaining their top awards will be recognised.
County commissioner, David Stokes, said the "high energy" event was designed "so that our young people and their supporters understand how special they are".
