A HEALTH and wellbeing charity has been given the royal seal of approval for its work in a County Durham town.
The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), based in Newton Aycliffe, has been handed The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the equivalent of an MBE, for outstanding work in the local community to benefit others.
It acknowledged the impact the charity has had on thousands of people in the last 18 years.
Carol Gaskarth, PCP chief executive said: “We are all absolutely thrilled and very proud to receive such a marvellous accolade for our work. PCP hugely values the contribution volunteers and staff make supporting local people to improve their health and wellbeing.”
Personal congratulations and best wishes were received from Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham, Sue Snowdon, who said: “You are very worthy recipients. Your organisation has made a real difference to the lives of others, and this recognition is so well deserved, and I thank you most sincerely for all you do.”
Mrs Snowdon will present the award to the PCP.
