A BROKEN leg is not stopping a popular comedian from performing in the region this week.
A spokeswoman for the Grand Opera House in York has confirmed that American funnyman Reginald D Hunter will go ahead with his planned show at the venue despite breaking his leg.
The injury means that Mr Hunter will perform his act on stage in a wheelchair on Thursday night.
The spokeswoman added: “We have not been informed on the details of how he broke his leg but I’m sure he will be talking about that on Thursday!”
Mr Hunter has lived in the UK for nearly 20-years and in the last 12-months has appeared in a critically acclaimed tour of Ireland as well as performing across Europe.
His television appearances have included 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the hugely popular BBC2 series Reginald D Hunter’s Songs Of The South. The programme documented his road trip from North Carolina to New Orleans through 150-years of American song.
