PEOPLE are invited to find out more about plans for health services in their area at an event later this month.

Members of the public across the Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby areas are invited to the annual meeting of their Clinical Commissioning Group on Tuesday, June 27, which will be preceded by a “market place event” at Richmond Town Hall.

Doors open from 2pm, when people can visit stands with information on health organisations and the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP plan). There will also be the chance to find out more about the work of local healthcare service commissioners, NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby CCG, including urgent and emergency care, diabetes, GP services and end of life care.

Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be available.

The formal AGM for the CCG is being held at the same venue from 3pm until 4.30pm and will include updates from members of the governing body reflecting on progress made during the past year. The meeting will also share updates on current challenges in the NHS and offer people the chance to have a say on local adults and older peoples’ mental health services.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the meeting to ask questions. People wishing to attend the formal meeting only should arrive promptly for a 3pm start.

Dr Charles Parker, local GP and clinical chair of the CCG said: “The past year has seen some real progress in the development of health and social care – but it has also identified new challenges.

"We’re hoping the marketplace event will demonstrate the variety of local health and social care organisations and offer a more interactive way to address those challenges.

“The AGM itself is a great opportunity to hear about your local healthcare services first-hand and for us to hear from local people so we can commission services that truly reflect their needs.”

Booking is not essential but attendance for the meeting can be registered in advance by emailing; hrwccg.media@nhs.net or calling; 01609-767621.
