ASPIRING stars are being given the chance to take part in a popular panto at the oldest working theatre in Britain.

The Georgian Theatre Royal at Richmond is holding auditions for girls and boys aged from eight to 18 who want to join the chorus of this years panto The Wizard of Oz. They have big shoes to fill, the panto is one of the most popular in the region with a reputation for excellence. The theatre was cited as the UK’s number one venue to see a pantomime by The Telegraph and last year it featured on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

Chief Executive Clare Allen said:“This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get involved in a professional production and appear alongside experienced actors and musicians. The junior chorus takes on a major role within the show, primarily through lively song and dance routines, and is an important part of the action.”

Auditions are from 5pm on Tuesday June 20 at the theatre, registration from 4.30pm.
