A NEWLY-REFURBISHED village pub is appealing for the return of a piece of artwork after it was stolen from their ladies' toilet.
Owners of The Three Tuns, in Eggleston, near Barnard Castle, shared the news on their Facebook page.
They said: "It pains us to have to post this, but to the delightful customer who has stolen the picture from the ladies toilets: we're glad you felt so impressed with the refurbishments to the facilities, as to help yourself to the decorations.
"We have little hope that this may be returned anonymously, however please enjoy looking at your new acquisition wherever you may hang it; may it too be a reminder of what a bargain you have or a constant reminder how low you have had to stoop."
They added: "We know who you are but have no desire to name and shame. Please do not embarrass us by returning to our business for us to have to turn you away."
