A MAN from the Richmond area has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving.
Roads Policing Group officers pulled over a silver Skoda Fabia on the A1(M) near Cleasby at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
Following a road-side test which showed up traces of cannabis, the 19-year-old driver was arrested and taken into custody for a blood sample to be taken.
He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are asked to contact police on 101, select option two and ask for Chris Coleman.

The operation involves all areas of policing targeting offences relating to drink and drug driving.
The force is targeting known and suspected offenders identified through the gathering of intelligence, as well as from information provided directly by members of the public.
