A RESIDENT at a Darlington care home has celebrated her 100th birthday with an indoor street party.
Kathleen Charlton celebrated the milestone with family, friends and residents yesterday at Willow Green Care Home on the town’s Eastbourne Road.
The care home held a party for Mrs Charlton with red, white and blue bunting, a personalised birthday cake and her favourite music.
Katie Dresser, activities co-ordinator at the care home, said: “Kath is the life and soul of the party - she is always dancing.
“She gets everybody up on their feet and she dances like a youngster.
“She is very proud and very excited to reach this age, but there will probably be a few tears as well,” she added.
Mrs Charlton spent the day with her family before coming back to the care home for the party.
She has previously raised money for dementia charities by recording her own CDs.
