A BABY tawny owl which fell out of a tree near Walworth Castle Hotel was rescued by a night porter and given to the neighbouring birds of prey centre to return to the wild.
The tiny owl was found on the floor and taken to David Tomms at the Walworth Castle Birds of Prey centre.
He said it was common for baby owls to fall from trees as they were learning to fly, and the best thing to do was return them up into tree as quickly as possible. The baby owl was returned to the wild at night, where he said its piercing screech meant its parents would quickly find it, or other owls would take care of it.
