EMERGENCY services were called out to help a motorist who became trapped in his vehicle after it rolled into a ditch near Sedgefield.
The crash on Racecourse Road, near to Sedgefield Racecourse, happened at 7.40am today (Thursday, June 8).
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newton Aycliffe and Bishop Auckland attended and freed the driver.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by road ambulance having suffered minor injuries.
A police spokesperson said nobody else was in the car at the time.
