With only 3 courts in the middle of a field near Darlington, Wellfield Tennis Club proved they can compete against the big guns by reaching the final of the 14 & Under National Junior Club League.

The Durham and Cleveland Final took place at Yarm Tennis Club and Yarm boys beat Wellfield 5-1. The exact match scores are highlighted below, Matthew Whitehall (Yarm) beat Sam Hornby (Wellfield) 6-3, 6-7,(10-5) George Gibbings (Yarm) beat Jack Barron (Wellfield) 6-2, 6-1 Luke Tonks (Yarm) beat James Potts (Wellfield) 6-1, 6-2 Ben Hall (Wellfield) beat Lewis Wear (Yarm) 7-6, 6-3 Whitehall & Gibbings (Yarm) beat Hornby & Barron 6-3, 6-2 Tonks & Wear (Yarm) beat Potts & Hall 6-2 6-1 Claire Stewart who is Captain of the Boy's Wellfield team highlighted the boy's success, "All the boy's played well and both teams highlighted fantastic sportsmanship. The boy's have worked tremendously hard and we are so proud of them for getting so far in the competition. Especially when you consider the limited resources available at Wellfield TC"!

In the other age categories (except the 14/16 & Under Boy's event), Durham and Cleveland were combined with Northumberland. All of the results are given below, 12 & Under Boy's. Runners Up - Tennis World The winners now go through to the Regional finals looking for a place in the National Finals (October 12-14 at Bath University).
