THE queen of Bowes Carnival has been selected ahead of the event next month.
Pupils from Bowes Hutchinson Primary School, in Teesdale, recently voted for who should be the village’s carnival queen as well as the rest of the parade entourage.
Jessica Turner, 11, was selected for the royal duty following retiring carnival queen, Amelia Dupuy, 11.
Sienna Douglas, ten, was made carnival princess alongside the queen’s attendants, Alex Jensen, Sophie Watson, Holly Whittle, all ten and Ella Alderson, nine.
Flower girls include Rosie Redmond, Ellie Perkins, Emily Finn, all eight, and Sophie Jensen, seven.
Joe Alderson, 11, is to be the herald who will be joined by crown bearer, Edward Sayer, nine and pages Luke Williams and James Tiplady, both seven.
The weekend will run from Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12 and the theme for the carnival fancy dress is Fairy Tales, Myths and Legends.
