A DOG walker who fell in woodland needed help from the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team.
The 65-year-old man from the Northallerton area slipped on an extremely muddy woodland path and injured his leg on Monday.
The incident happened around 1pm while the man was visiting friends in Faceby with his family.
He slipped while the group was walking their dogs in Whorl Hill Woods.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service alerted the Team and some of its volunteers were quickly on the scene of the accident alongside ambulance paramedics.
The injured walker was treated at the scene before he was carried around 300 metres through the woods to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment.
Team spokesman, Pete Mounsey said: “Today’s incident was caused by the recent wet weather causing very muddy conditions.”
The callout concluded a busy weekend for the Team.
Some of its members had been involved with the Tour de Yorkshire at Sutton Bank providing cover in case of an accident to the many spectators in the area.
Other Team members were walking from Whitby to the Claredon in Marske along with 60 or so walkers who were raising money for the volunteer team.
