YORK anglers continue to do well on the commercial carp scene and up and coming youngster Craig Robinson made his mark yet again during the latest round of the Bob Co Spring Series on Moor Monkton's Carpvale fishery.

Pulling out peg 29 on the Match Lake, Craig left everybody else well behind recording a super bag of 106.0.0.

Working the pole at 9m and paste on the bottom, 40 carp came at steady intervals, best 4.0.0.

Runner up Cliff Lofthouse of Ripon pegged on nearby Cyprio opted for cat meat on the hook off peg 6. Fishing further out at 11m again carp responded as 20 samples registered 89.2.0 at the scales followed by John Brain of Harrogate on 70.2.0.

Fellow carp rod and arguably the area's best Dean Smith made it four wins on the trot in little over a week and his weights just get better and better.

Competing in the midweeker at Woodlands the Garbolino Elton sponsored angler drew Partridge 7 and hammered home a stunning 158.4.0.

His trademark 14Âm in conjunction with meat fished at half depth proved irresistible as carp galore obliged for an almost 45.0.0 winning margin.

Biggest attendance of the week saw 74 anglers turn out for Sunday's Oaks Open on Cedar Lake.

The drop in temperature checked weights slightly and Harrogate's Ron Minikin won a competitive match netting 63.10.0. On peg 51 it was carp to 3.0.0 as the Oaks regular used pellet presented at 13m to hold off John Kenning of Garbolino Ossett 60.3.0.

Trout News Big fish fortnight' starts on the 1 of June at Leighton Reservoir with all trout stocked during this two week period being above 3.0.0 and many in the 6 to 10.0.0 range.

Last week saw some good specimens landed. Ken Westgarth grassed an impressive rainbow of 9.2.0 while not far behind Barry Porter landed one of 8.8.0. The biggest brownie went to Alan Pringle and also weighed in at 8.8.0. Rod average 3.2. 135 visitors totalled 435 trout.
