JAIL awaits a shoplifter who was recalled to court on a warrant.
Stacey Aldworth, 28, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ from custody today (Thursday, April 28) to plead guilty to shoplifting from B&M Bargains in Bishop Auckland.
The court heard that Aldworth, of George Street, Bishop Auckland, stole a total of £176.37 worth of cleaning products on two separate occasions in March.
She also attempted to steal £77.74 worth of goods on March 19 but was thwarted by an officer and the items were recovered.
District Judge Martin Walker said that Aldworth had been recalled to court for a more serious offence, which he did not describe in court, and sentenced her to 21-days in prison.
She was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation.
