A YOUNG dancer waltzed her way to success at a national event.
Scarlett Moffatt, of Bishop Auckland, won the under-16 girls' International Dance Teachers Association Medallist of the Year.
Partnered by Stephanie Cook, from Cockfield, she won the local heats at Redcar Bowl in June last year.
She was among 60 competitors from all over the country to compete for the title.
The girls are pupils at Dianne White's Academy of Dance, in Shildon, and Dianne said: "This was Scarlett's last competition in the under-16 section as she now joins the ranks of the under 25 ladies. What a way to finish."
