A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being struck by at least four vehicles on the A19.
The accident happened at 10.35pm on Saturday and closed both carriageways of the road.
It was still closed in the northbound direction this morning.
Police said a Triumph motorcycle collided with a Vauxhall Astra close to the Haynes Arms public house at Kirby Sigston, near Northallerton.
The rider was thrown from his bike into the northbound carriageway and was then hit by a number of other vehicles, including a Vauxhall Corsa, a Mercedes and a BMW.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, but has not yet been formally identified.
North Yorkshire Police have appealed for any witnesses to call them on 0845-6060247.
