INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed musicians have been entertaining patients at a Durham hospital.
The two violinists gave a one-hour recital for patients at the Bowes Lyon Day Hospital.
Simon Hewitt Jones, from London, and David Worswick, from Liverpool, played a mix of folk and popular music in their concert, arranged as part of the Live Music Now programme.
Anne Fisher, the hospital manager, said: "Many of our patients are usually very restless, but the beautiful music played by Simon and David has given them a sense of calm, while experiencing a very lively, spontaneous and entertaining performance."
Elsie Graham, a day patient from Chester-le-Street, said: "The music played was very expressive. I found myself joining in and tapping my foot along to some of the music, and yet at other times it gave me time to think."
