EUROPE'S largest touring equestrian theatre show made its debut in County Durham yesterday.
The Spirit of the Horse company presented its production Chimera for the first time at Dalton Park, Murton, east Durham, to be followed by further performances today and tomorrow.
A family show, it is an equestrian fantasy, blending dance, drama, comedy and outstanding horsemanship.
The action-packed show is being staged in a specially-designed 2,000-seater moveable theatre with sophisticated lighting and sound equipment.
The production centres on the legend of Chimera, the mythological evil beast, and has been created and directed by Phillip Gandey, who has become one of Europe's most respected directors of live family entertainment.
Performances will be held at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm today and at 3pm and 6pm tomorrow.
Tickets are available at the door or by telephoning 0870-1609559.
