A HOUSING association will provide almost 60 affordable homes for sale in the next year.
The scheme, developed by Broadacres, has seen eight homes built on Valley Road, in Northallerton. Six have already been sold. Work is due to be completed in August.
Rob Brittain, Broadacres' business development manager, said: "We are committed to providing low-cost housing options for local people.
"Our programme for the next year will include 58 low-cost homes for sale. Our long-term objective is to see this figure rise significantly."
Darwins Estate Agents, in Northallerton, have been appointed to assist Broadacres with the sale of the homes in Valley Road and ten new homes built in partnership with George Wimpey on the Forrester Park development in Northallerton. Prices range from £59,000 to £95,000.
Mike Darwin, of Darwins, said: "A good supply of affordable homes for rent and buy is vital for a stable housing market and to meet the needs of people on lower incomes."
