FAMILY History Month is being marked with a roadshow helping people to learn the rudiments of tracing their roots.
The Northumberland and Durham Family History Society presents its final roadshow during the month-long celebration, at Clayport Library, Durham, on Tuesday.
Called Who Do You Think You Are?, the event is free and starts at 10am. A talk on family history for beginners will be at 2pm.
Bookings can be taken for one-to-one sessions with the society's advisors by calling 0191-455-6511.
Researchers will look at problems people come across when tracing their family tree, and the potential pitfalls of using the internet and some genealogy sites.
Visitors will be offered a free pack, which includes several short guides to family history.
To receive a pack, send an A4 stamped addressed envelope to the value of a £1, to Durham Event, Publicity Department, NDFS Research Centre, Bolbec Hall, Westgate Road. Newcastle.
Anyone wishing to attend the talk should contact Clayport Library, on 0191-386-4003.
