A SERIES of open-air band concerts gets under way in Durham tomorow, at 2.30pm.
The free events, which attract hundreds of spectators, are organised by Durham County Council and held in the grounds of the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery at Aykley Heads.
Craghead Colliery Band starts the season tomorrow, to be followed by Murton Colliery Band, on June 10, Bearpark and Esh Colliery Band, on June 17, Billingham Silver Band, on June 24, the North-East Concert Band, on July 1, Ferryhill Town Band, on July 15, Cockerton Prize Silver Band, on July 22 and the Durham Constabulary Band, on July 29.
