JUNIOR football club in North Yorkshire is celebrating after clinching a new sponsorship deal with a local car dealership.

Simon Bailes Peugeot has become the new sponsor of Brompton Girls Junior Football Club and will be providing the team with new tracksuits.

The club, which competes in the North Riding and Tees Valley Girls League, is made up of over 50 players aged between seven and fourteen and all the coaching staff work on a voluntary basis training with the girls every week of the year even out of season.

Simon Bailes Peugeot supports a number of grassroots sports teams around North Yorkshire and the North-East and Simon Bailes, managing director, was recognised for his work earlier this year when he received the One North East Award for Business in Sport at a regional awards ceremony.

Simon commented: "Simon Bailes Peugeot is a passionate supporter of local sports teams which are an important part of community life throughout North Yorkshire and the North-East.

"Brompton Girls Junior Football Club has had some great successes this season with all of the teams finishing well in the league. They're a dedicated team destined to do well again next season and we're pleased to be supporting them in their efforts."

James Lofthouse, manager of Brompton Girls, added: "All of our girls' teams did extremely well in the North Riding and Tees Valley Girls League and we couldn't do it without the support of local businesses.

"We ended our season on a real high and as a result we're constantly looking for new members, especially in the under nine age group, as our success allows us to grow. It is thanks to companies, like Simon Bailes Peugeot, that we can continually strive to develop all our young players."

A girls' tournament is taking place on Sunday, June 24 at Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Under-12s and Under-14s age groups can find out more by contacting James Lofthouse on 01609 777070.
