A JUNIOR girls' football club is celebrating a sponsorship deal with a local car dealership.
Simon Bailes Peugeot has become the new sponsor of Brompton Girls Junior Football Club, near Northallerton, and will provide the team with new tracksuits.
The club, which competes in the North Riding and Tees Valley Girls League, is made up of more than 50 players aged seven to 14. The volunteer coaches work with the teams every week, even out of season.
Simon Bailes Peugeot supports a number of grassroots sports teams around the region. Managing director Simon Bailes was honoured earlier this year when he received the One NorthEast Award for business in sport.
Club manager James Lofthouse said: "All of our teams did extremely well in the league and we could not do it without the support of local businesses.
"We ended our season on a real high and, as a result, we are constantly looking for new members, especially in the under-nine age group."
A girls' tournament will take place on June 24, at Hambleton Leisure Centre, in Northallerton. To take part in the under-12 and under-14 age groups, call 01609-777070.
