THE benefits to the local economy of walkers will be debated at a conference at the end of the month.
The event, at Hawes, in Upper Wensleydale, on Saturday, June 30, has been organised by the Settle-Carlisle Enterprise Network (Scene) and chaired by Terry Fletcher, the editor of The Dalesman magazine.
Colin Speakman will address issues, including how businesses and walkers can help each other.
Programmes and booking forms are available in exchange for a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Scene, the Community Office, Hawes, North Yorkshire, DL8 3RA.
A bus connection will run from Garsdale station to the conference.
