YOUNG swimmers have raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Members of Wear Valley Swimming Association raised the money at a sponsored gala in March.
The money was presented to Dr Bill Lamb, a consultant paediatrician at Bishop Auckland General Hospital, at the club's base in Woodhouse Close Leisure Centre.
A total of £1,250 was raised for Dr Lamb's insulin pump appeal which, over the past four years, has provided equipment for children with diabetes.
Head coach Carla Rispin said: "It was a fun thing to do and it's raised a lot of money too."
