A DURHAM UNIVERSITY college is playing host to an exhibition of work by northern artist Pamela Knight.
The display is on show in the entrance to Trevelyan College and will be open until Tuesday, June 8.
Ms Knight studied fashion and textiles at Manchester College of Art and Design, between 1968 and 1972. She followed this with a further year at the Old Vic Theatre School.
In 1997, she was inspired by seeing collagraph prints made by Peter Wray, a major exponent of the technique.
She went on to learn the process and feels she has found a form of expression best suited to her.
Ms Knight works from her studio in York, exhibiting in galleries around the North of England and Scotland. She also takes part in the annual York Open Studios event.
She said: "My subject matter is drawn mainly from landscape - walking in the countryside in Britain and abroad is my favourite activity.'' She said of her work: "I try to juggle a loose, non-literal expression, yet still retain a sense of space and atmosphere.'' There is no charge to see the exhibition which is open between 10am and 6pm each day.
