POLICE are appealing for information about a road accident that left a woman with a broken leg.
The 67-year-old is believed to have suffered the injury after getting out of a private hire car on Sunday night.
Police said the incident happened at about 11pm, in Havilland Road, Thornaby, after the silver Vauxhall Vectra car had pulled over to allow her out.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "It's thought she was struck by the rear of the vehicle she had alighted from."
She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, where she is being treated.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Jayson Morris, of the road policing unit, on 01642-301552.
